Ana Rocha (Porto, 1982) was a producer for visual arts, music and performing arts, still collaborates as project production manager. She is a curator, choreographer, performer, dramaturge and teacher. She has been working in the cultural and artistic field as an independent freelancer for 24 years. She studied Art History, Contemporary Art and Visual Arts. Co-directed and founded MEZZANINE - a non-profit cultural association for performing arts. She was part of the SOOPA collective, and co-founded OOPSA association. She was part of other cultural structures (Fábrica de Movimentos, Balleteatro, Cão Danado & Cia and UFERSTUDIOS) and collaborated in the production of several festivals, such as Serralves em Festa (Porto), Alkantara Festival and Sónar+D’22 (Lisbon).Participated in international projects TRANSLOCA, CARE where?\CAREZINE and Tranzfabrik. She has presented her own performance works, Fraud by Nature (2012), Stabat Mater Furiosa (2017), LAVACURA (2019), Manual da Falla (2019), MudAres (2020), Entretanto(s) (2021), OraculÁreas (2021), OcioSamente (2022), #RebelRebel (2022), Óraculo de Adivinhação para o Gil, Eu&Água, Dei-te o Mundo de Bandeja, Approaches to Tempest Birth (2023), Mukur Mukur e Toda Gente Vai (2024). Participated in projects by visual artists and choreographers such as Fabienne Audéoud, Isabelle Schad, Dinis Machado, Rafael Alvarez, Benoit Lachambre, Antonija Livingstone, Gretta Sarfaty and collaborated with Netos de Bandim, CA Conrad, Renan Martins, Mariana Tengner Barros, Teresa Fabião, Rui Catalão, Bernardo Chatillon, Gio Lourenço, Xavier de Sousa, Meg Stuart, Phillipe Quesne, Elpida Orfanidou, Igor Dobrivic, Luisa Mota, André Sousa, Davis Freeman, among others.Obtained the DanceWeb - Impulstanz'12 scholarship. Completed the SPCP of Deborah Hay, “Dynamic” (2012).She works as cultural mediatior and curator( TAMANHO M, XXATENEUXXI’19, Cultura em Expansão 2019 to 2024, To School Out of School’19 \ Colectivos Pláka, TanzKongress'19, ViaAberta\Mid Summers Night Dream’19, CURADURA’21, Set-Up 2021 to 2025, A Casa de Sibila’22, PACAP8 \ Mystery School of Choreography 2025, among others), collaborating with informal organizations for the arts, artists-run collectives and public institutions. She was an associate of Ateneu Comercial do Porto.Ana collaborates as a freelance consultant for performing arts in different contexts & disciplines, artists and structures as Sekoia Artes Performativas and Bela Associação. She was a member of Ação Cooperativista. Head-director of REDE Dança, independent structure representing more then 40 portuguese structures of dance and performance (2023-2025).She taught at ImPulsTanz, Tanzfabrik, Balleteatro, FBAUP, ESAP and ENSBA Lyon.Currently, a student within the Human Ecology PHD program of Human & Social Faculty \ Nova University Lisbon (PT).
